It was a tough year for the Arizona Cardinals. They finished 4-13 on the season. Only safety Budda Baker made the Pro Bowl and even his selection was criticized.
So it should be no surprise that when the Pro Football Writers of America announced their All-NFL and all-conference teams, no Cardinals players could be found.
The PFWA is comprised of writers and reporters around the country covering the 32 NFL teams and they voted on these honors.
Even on my ballot, I was unable to select any Cardinals players for the All-NFL or All-NFC teams.
Baker simply didn’t have the season that Jessie Bates of the Atlanta Falcons or Antoine Winfield of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Tight end Trey McBride broke out this season but didn’t deserve to be selected over San Francisco’s George Kittle.
Running back James Conner was fantastic but could not be chosen over San Francisco’s Christian McCaffrey or the Rams’ Kyren Williams.
With all-rookie teams coming out in the days to come, here’s hoping tackle Paris Johnson gets some recognition after playing every snap at right tackle.
