Here are your Cardiff City headlines for Wednesday, February 8.
Aston Villa open to selling Philogene this summer
Cardiff winger Jaden Philogene will be one of a number of players Aston Villa will look to offload in the summer, according to BirminghamLive.
The youngster, who turned 21 today, has shown flashes of real potential during his time with the Bluebirds and has chipped in with a couple of goals, too.
However, he, along with most of City's attacking stable, has failed to produce the goods consistently enough this season.
And reports in the Midlands claim that Villa boss Unai Emery has decided that Philogene will be one of several players who will allowed to leave Villa Park this summer, should the right bid come in. It claims Villa want to add at least one wide player in the summer, with Philogene likely the one to be pushed out.
Philogene has another season left on his Villa contract, which, at present, rules Cardiff out of the running somewhat should they want to sign him permanently. The Bluebirds are still unable to pay transfer fees for players owing to an EFL ruling.
Clubs 'put off' by Mark Harris price tag in January
Blackburn Rovers, Stoke City and Wigan Athletic were all put off by Cardiff's £700,000 valuation of Mark Harris in January, according to former England midfielder Carlton Palmer.
Reports emerged towards the end of the window that Harris was subject of transfer interest from a number of City's Championship rivals. However, with just months left on his Bluebirds contract, there was no movement.
The Wales international, who has three goals to his name this season and 10 in 89 games in total for the Bluebirds, could leave the club on a free at the end of the season. And that, Palmer believes, is the reason clubs were reluctant to fork out a hefty transfer sum in January.
Palmer told Football League World: “Blackburn were hoping to agree a deal with Cardiff before the transfer deadline.
“His contract expires in the summer. So, none of the prospective buyers, and there were a few clubs interested, were prepared to pay the £700,000 plus that Cardiff we’re asking. It doesn’t make sense when the player is going to be available on a free in the summer.
“But, Blackburn now not doing the deal, and him being available on a free in the summer, that brings other clubs into play. Stoke and Wigan were interested in him. They also didn’t want to pay the £700,000 plus and why would you when a player is going to be out of contract in the summer?”

Bluebirds Women make signing
Cardiff City Women have added Manon Pearce to their squad ahead of the Adran Premier's Championship Phase.
The 18-year-old has joined from Barry Town United and has scored twice this season. Upon signing for the Bluebirds, she said: "I am very excited to have joined Cardiff City and I’m looking forward to seeing what we can achieve as a team this season.
“It’s a great opportunity to work with the players and I can’t wait to see how we do in Phase Two. I’m motivated to play well and win trophies with this team.”
Head coach Iain Darbyshire added: "I am delighted to welcome Manon to the club. She is a player we have tracked for over a year and when the opportunity arose this January, it was one we couldn't miss.
“Manon has played in the Adran Premier for the last two seasons, whilst also representing Wales U17 & U19 teams, so she has a lot of experience for someone so young. We expect her to hit the ground running and be a key member of our squad as we begin Phase Two."
Ollie Tanner's boss sacked
Ollie Tanner's manager at York City, David Webb has been sacked.
Webb had a link with former Bluebirds boss Mark Hudson and wanted Tanner for the second half of the season to help the National League club to stave off relegation.
Tanner has played four games for the club since moving to York, all of which they have lost, leaving the Yorkshire club struggling down in 18th.
A club statement read: "York City FC can confirm that first-team manager David Webb has been relieved of his duties with immediate effect.
"We would like to thank David for his efforts over the last few months and wish him all the best for the future.
"The club has commenced its search for a new manager, and we will bring further communication on who will take interim charge in due course."
