Cardiff City transfer headlines as hopes grow over Ryan Giles return and Bournemouth eye star man Kieffer Moore

Here's your round-up of all the latest Cardiff City headlines for Tuesday, January 25.

Cardiff hopeful on Giles

Cardiff are growing increasingly hopeful of sealing a return for Ryan Giles this month.

Bluebirds boss Steve Morison has made little secret of his desire to bring Giles back to the capital, and it's understood the club remain optimistic about their chances of sealing a move.

Giles was recalled back to Molineux earlier this month, and was even named on the bench three times for Wolves, but is free to make a return to Cardiff as he didn't actually play a single minute.

Interest has come from several Championship clubs, but Cardiff insiders are hopeful that they have done enough to convince him to come back to south Wales.

A return for the 21-year-old would come as a huge boost for City, with the wide-man's tally of nine assists placing him in the top three most creative players in the second tier.

City are without a league win in their last six outings under Morison and remain perilously close to the relegation zone.

Bournemouth keen on Kieffer

Bournemouth are working on a move to snap up Cardiff City striker Kieffer Moore.

The Cherries are understood to have shown a keen interest in the Wales striker, whose future at the Cardiff City Stadium looks increasingly uncertain.

Moore, who netted 20 goals in the Championship last season, was the subject of interest from Wolves over the summer, only for the Premier League outfit to baulk at Cardiff's £10m price tag.

That valuation is, according to sources, likely to be much lower this time around, although an exact figure remains unclear at this stage.

There's similarly little clarity on how far along the Cherries are with any potential pursuit, although club insiders have seemingly played down the prospect of an imminent exit.

Indeed, there's been no confirmation inside that the club that a sale is on the cards at this stage, but talk over a potential exit for the 29-year-old has nevertheless continued to gather pace.

Tomlin's emotional Instagram post

Lee Tomlin has taken to Instagram to share a candid update on his mental health as he seemingly continues to search for a new club.

Tomlin has been without a team since leaving Cardiff by mutual consent in October.

The mercurial 33-year-old struggled with injury and fitness during his time in South Wales, as well as struggles with his mental health.

Taking to social media, Tomlin seemingly admitted that he was once again finding things tough.

He wrote: "In the past few months I've been waking up like it’s an accident.

"I’m back on this and getting to the place where I was 2 years ago.

"Life is full of ups and downs that’s part of life, but dealing with it is a different matter.

"We all deal with it in different ways, so I dealt with it by getting fit for the first time in my life properly and mentally I was a machine.

"But over the last 2 years I've gradually gone back to my old self and I don’t like it and only I can change that.

"So what I’m trying to say is do what YOU want to do in life that makes you happy and do what YOU want in life that you enjoy and don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t."

Young Bluebirds earn point on derby day

Keenan Patten's header was enough to earn Cardiff City's under-23s a point at home to south Wales derby rivals Swansea City.

Patten headed home midway through the second half, after Jaden Forrester's spot kick had handed the visitors a deserved lead.

Forrester was handed the chance to win the game for the Swans deep into the second half, but was denied by goalkeeper George Ratcliffe.
