Former Cardiff City manager Steve Morison has been installed by bookmakers as third favourite to take over the job, with Sol Bamba now the favourite.
Reports on Wednesday morning stated Bamba had been offered the job, with a number of admirers within the club. However, speaking to the BBC, chairman Mehmet Dalman said: "We have an interview process which is going on. No decision has been made on any manager at this stage."
Bamba is likely one of the people who is in the mix and part of that process and he is priced at just 1/6 odds on favourite now. Ex-Southampton and Luton manager Nathan Jones, a Rhondda boy and Bluebirds supporter, is second favourite at 9/1.

But the surprise name to shoot up the odds list compiled by the bookies on Wednesday afternoon is that of Morison. The former Bluebirds under-21s boss was promoted to the first team following the sacking of Mick McCarthy in October 2021 and gained plaudits for steering the club to Championship safety following a successful transfer window in January 2022.
He was then tasked with overhauling the squad on a shoestring budget last summer and picked up some decent free agents. He was, however, dismissed just two weeks after the window closed, with Cardiff owner Vincent Tan feeling Morison would take the Bluebirds down if he didn't act.
Cardiff parted ways with Morison with the club placed in 18th in the Championship. Some supporters though felt he wasn't given enough opportunity to work with the brand-new squad he had assembled.
Morison, at 28/1 this morning, has seen his odds slash in half to 14/1 as he comes into third favourite as far as the bookmakers are concerned, anyway.
