Sabri - We have to move on
Cardiff City boss Sabri Lamouchi admits his side cannot afford to dwell on Saturday's 2-0 defeat at Preston North End.
Goals from Tom Cannon and Ched Evans proved enough to condemn the Bluebirds to defeat at Deepdale, with Lamouchi left to rue what he regarded as 'stupid' mistakes.
Cardiff go again on Wednesday night, with West Bromwich Albion the visitors to the Cardiff City Stadium, and the Frenchman says his side need to quickly muster up a positive response.
“We need to move on and have a rest, and fortunately we have a game in three days at home again," he said. "We need to think about our mistake and of course focus on the next one.
“We need to be absolutely ready for game after game and focus, as each point is absolutely important for us.”
Pundits point finger at youngster
Cardiff youngster Rohan Luthra has already found himself on the end of criticism after making his senior debut in Lancashire.
The 20-year-old was called upon from the bench after Jak Alnwick was dismissed for a wild challenge on Cannon.
Luthra did well to initially palm away the resulting freekick, only for the rebound to fall kindly for Evans, who duly tucked home.
Dissecting the action for ITV's EFL highlights show, Courtney Sweetman believes the youngster could have done more to prevent the goal.
"The keeper that comes in [after the red card] is coming into it cold. He's got to do better with the freekick.
"It's got to go out wide and not back into bodies. It's a tap-in."
Host Hugh Woozencroft was in agreement, adding: "A goalkeeper sent off for the second straight week. Not great, of course. Rohan Luthra, the goalkeeper that came on for his senior debut, maybe had a moment to forget.
"He'll have to have a big game next time out."
McCarthy rues 'worst' performance
Meanwhile, former Cardiff boss Mick McCarthy believes Saturday's 2-0 defeat was 'probably the worst performance’ he has experienced since taking over as Blackpool boss.
Goals from Andreas Weimann and Alex Scott proved enough to condemn the Seasiders to defeat at Ashton Gate.
Since McCarthy took over, the Tangerines have won just one of their last 10 games, and McCarthy pulled no punches in his post-match assessment.
“We were well beaten by a far better side - they deserved the points,” he said. “Last week against Burnley we were talking about how well we did.
“We talked about it before the game, how it was a boost for us to go and get a performance here today but we never did it. Win, lose or draw I expect a good performance from the players - that’s probably the worst performance I have seen since I came in.
“I can’t really come out of today’s performance and say there is much good in it - it was really really poor.
"Our travelling fans have not seen anything here today and we’re really disappointed we didn’t give them something to shout about - we let them down.”
Warnock - We have no chance at the moment
Elsewhere in the relegation fight, Neil Warnock says his Huddersfield Town side currently have 'no chance' of staying up unless they solve their woes in front of goal.
The Terriers slipped to a 1-0 defeat at West Brom on Saturday, their third defeat in four games.
They're now six points adrift of safety, with other results arguably going their way, but Warnock says his side will need a dramatic improvement over the coming weeks if they're to preserve their Championship status.
"Well we've no chance at the moment because we've not scored in four games. I can't ask them any more than they've done today, I wish I'd been here a month or two earlier, but otherwise I can't complain, other than I'm not sure who picked the kit."
