Here are the latest news headlines from Cardiff City Stadium for April 3.
Warnock eyeing Huddersfield 'miracle'
Huddersfield Town boss Neil Warnock insists it will still take a 'miracle' to keep the Terriers in the Championship this season.
A surprise 4-2 win over Middlesbrough has put Warnock's men level on points with former club Cardiff City, with only goal difference keeping the Bluebirds out of the bottom three.
Cardiff do have the luxury of a game in hand, following the controversial abandonment at Rotherham United, but with the two sides set to meet at Cardiff City Stadium on April 29, there's still plenty to play for.
Given his fine record in saving sides from the drop, a few in the Welsh capital might well be growing anxious at the prospect of their former boss sucking them into a relegation dogfight, but Warnock is clearly in no mood to start getting carried away, despite such a brilliant win at the weekend.
Speaking post-match, Warnock said: “Oh my god, the biggest miracle ever (what survival would mean). That’s why I’m saying, don’t jump into saying it (Huddersfield will stay up) now we’ve won two in a row.
“We’ll probably lose our next two and be back to square one! When you look at the fixtures, nobody has had a tougher run of fixtures than us - and we’ve got more to come. Watford away, Blackburn Rovers, they don’t come much tougher than that.
“We’ve had a few as well. Burnley, Coventry… we lost 4-0 at Coventry and I was disappointed we didn’t win! We’ll only stay up on our own results - nobody else’s.”
Bluebirds goalkeeper scores last-ditch equaliser
Cardiff City Under-21s goalkeeper Matthew Turner scored a 98th-minute equaliser for Aberystwyth Town against Pontypridd United in the JD Cymru Premier on April 1.
Turner has been on loan at Aberystwyth for the duration of the season, having joined the Bluebirds from Leeds United in 2021. The clip of his goal has been seen on Twitter by 89,000 people.
Speaking to the club’s website, Turner said: "I mean it’s always a bizarre moment when a keeper scores and it’s always great to see the headlines for people when it happens. But I never thought there would be this many videos of the goal. From the fan reactions and the rest of the squad celebrating; it’s been a little bit crazy!
“I was going up to cause a little confusion and just hope I could help in giving someone some space to create a good chance. I never dreamed that the chance would fall to me. I just tried to get something on it and direct it towards the goal and thankfully that was enough to get the point.”
His goal helped Aberystwyth to move out of the relegation zone, swapping places with Flint Town United. Fellow Bluebirds loanee Tom Davies scored the opening goal for Pontypridd in the same game.

City Women continue unbeaten season
Cardiff City Women continued their unbeaten Adran Premier campaign with a 2-0 win over Cardiff Metropolitan University yesterday afternoon.
A brace in the second half from Eliza Collie was enough for the Bluebirds to claim all three points.
Head coach Iain Darbyshire told the club’s official website: “You’ve got to find what motivates you and we could take our foot off the gas a little bit, but we’re not that type of club.
“We want to go the league season unbeaten, we want to go into the cup final in the best form possible. The motivation is there and you can see from the performance today that the focus is there.”
Their final game of the season will be against Swansea City at Cardiff City Stadium on Saturday where they will lift the Adran Premier trophy.
Bluebirds survival predicted
The latest predictions by FiveThirtyEight show that Cardiff City will avoid relegation from the Championship by two points.
The company, which uses data such as defending and attacking statistics including expected goals to predict scorelines and final standings across world football, think the Bluebirds will finish in 21st on 48 points. They currently have 39 points following their loss in the South Wales derby.
This would mean survival ahead of Huddersfield Town, Blackpool and Wigan Athletic who currently occupy the three relegation places.
According to their data, the Bluebirds have a 33% chance of relegation, compared to 53% for Huddersfield, 77% for Blackpool and 85% for Wigan. Rotherham and QPR have a 26% and 23% chance of relegation respectively. All other teams have a less than 1% chance.
