Cardiff City end adidas deal as new shirt manufacturer announced

Cardiff City have confirmed New Balance as their new kit supplier for the upcoming 2022/23 season.

The Bluebirds have become the first Championship side to sign such a deal with the American company, who currently supply kits to European giants such as FC Porto and AS Roma. The deal, which is understood to be a four-year term, will kick in at some point in July 2022.

It's expected that the release of the new kit will be around the same time. The move brings an end to a seven-year partnership with previous supplier adidas.

The club confirmed the new deal with New Balance in a short video, which you can watch below.

The partnership with the Welsh club marks a return to English football for New Balance, who last season didn't sponsor a single Premier League or Championship team. Indeed, their last deal with an English club from either division was with Liverpool, whom they worked with up until 2020.
