A car burst into flames on a busy Ayrshire road this morning following a crash.
The car was found ablaze after a crash involving two vehicles around 11am on Station Road, Ayr.
Fire crews rushed to the red motor as thick smoke billowed out onto the major route near Ayr railway station.
Stunning footage taken by a witness shows firefighters racing from their appliance to the roadside inferno.
The crew can be seen blasting the car in a bid to quickly extinguish the flames bursting out from the bonnet.
Thankfully no one was injured in the crash.
A 56-year-old man has since been arrested in connection with road traffic offences, police have confirmed.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said : "Officers attended a report of a crash involving two vehicles which happened around 11am on Tuesday, 17 January, 2023 in Station Road, Ayr. A 56 year-old man has been arrested in connection with road traffic offences."
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were called to assist emergency service partners at 10.57am on Tuesday, January 17 to reports of a road traffic collision involving two vehicles on Station Road, Ayr."
"Operations Control mobilised one appliance to the scene and firefighters worked to make the area safe.
"There were no casualties and crews left shortly after extinguishing the fire."
