The girlfriend of Captain America star Chris Evans has told how she was the victim of a terrifying abduction bid in Scotland when she was a child.
Alba Baptista, who features in Netflix series Warrior Nun, made the claim in an interview in her native Portugal. The actress, 25, told Nova Gente magazine she was on a study trip, aged 10.
“I was queuing in a shop to buy a T-shirt for my dad and a man aged around 50 beside me offered to pay for it. I thanked him but told him it wasn’t necessary,” she said. “Then he said to me, ‘Look, I have a much better T-shirt in my car.’”
Alba told how the stranger grabbed her arm and tried to pull her out of the shop. She added: “The teacher appeared at the door to call me. I ran to go to her.
"I remember telling her what had happened and suddenly I see the man cutting through the queue with a hurricane-type look on his face and coming directly for me. My teacher went to alert someone and I was left alone.
“But the worst was yet to come. The man grabbed me and began to carry me down the street. Then I began to shout and tell him to leave me alone.
“I remember looking back and seeing the whole class running after me. Then everyone surrounded the man and he had to let go of me.”
It was not made clear where exactly the incident happened or if the police got involved.
