James McFadden was left stunned after Scotland had a penalty award overturned by VAR in the Nations League match against North Macedonia.
The co-commentator had been certain that Ben Gannon-Doak was fouled in the second half of the match in Skopje.
Referee Francois Letexier had immediately pointed to the spot after Gannon-Doak tumbled in the box from a Matej Gashtarov.
However, he was called to review the decision at the pitchside monitor by Bram van Driessche on VAR. Letexier then overtuned his call and awarded a free-kick to the hosts.
Replays appeared to show Gannon-Doak stepped on Gashtarov's foot as he surged into the penalty box - but McFadden reckons the defender had already clipped him.
"I mean, he clips his knee. He clips his left knee, right there," said McFadden who firmly expected a spot-kick to be awarded.
"From there it looks like he clips his leg. He is running at full speed Gannon-Doak.
"The last angle it did look like there was less. But I did think there's a little nick on Gannon-Doak's left leg which is enough to put him off his stride.
"I can't quite believe it."
