Sebastian Kris is not ruling out a move to five-eighth as Canberra continue their search to replace departing star Jack Wighton from next season.
Kris signed a multi-year contract extension with the Raiders on Wednesday, keeping him at the club until the end of 2027.
A breakout season at fullback has earned the 24-year-old the deal, with four tries and three assists helping his side to fifth on the ladder.
The New Zealand international has impressed since being handed the Raiders' No.1 jersey in pre-season after Xavier Savage broke his jaw, defying doubts about his suitability for the role upon shifting from the centres.
And another positional switch may yet be on the cards, with coach Ricky Stuart suggesting last week Kris could be a candidate to move from fullback to the halves, much like Dally M medallist Wighton did midway through last decade.
"It hasn't really come up in conversation, I've just been trying to nail the fullback role," Kris said when asked on Wednesday about that potential move.
"I wouldn't rule it out. I I know that if I put my mind to something I'll be able to do a good enough job.
"If that's where they see me, then I'll have a good, red-hot crack.
"I've always thought that learning a new skillset, a new position, is a good thing. Adding another string to the bow.
"It'll help me in the long run, having that versatility. I'll be able to play in any position."
Kris, who joined the Raiders as a 14-year-old, has displaced young gun Xavier Savage from the No.1 role he held in 2022, the 21-year-old forced to play NSW Cup this year where he's split fullback and wing duties.
Wighton will depart for South Sydney at the end of the season, with no standout replacement remaining for the Raiders. Backup half Brad Schneider is reportedly set to shift to Super League club Hull KR.
Utility Matt Frawley is the only other halves option on the roster, with Canberra fleetingly linked with St George Illawarra's in-demand halfback Ben Hunt.
