Canada could be in for a winter marked by sharp temperature swings, Arctic cold outbreaks, blizzards and messy ice storms, according to the latest 2026-27 outlook from the Farmers' Almanac .
The long-range forecast paints a dramatically different picture from one region to another. While parts of British Columbia may spend much of the season dealing with rain and Pacific storms, the Prairies could face bursts of bitter cold and blizzard conditions. Ontario is forecast to see frequent snow and ice, while eastern Canada could contend with a volatile mix of snow, sleet, freezing rain and powerful coastal storms.
