Like 65 per cent of UK adults, I have never, to the detriment of those around me, been to therapy.
Despite family and friends extolling the benefits of it, I’ve never felt the urge to add it to my already too-long list of monthly expenses. I listen to podcasts about psychology and talk to psychiatrists and therapists as part of my job, but as a mother of two who barely has time to eat three vegetables a day, walk half the recommended steps, and wear clothing that doesn’t look like I’ve broken out of prison, going to therapy always felt pretty low on the list of things to do.
