Cameron Carter-Vickers Celtic season over due to injury, confirms Ange Postecoglou

Ange Postecoglou has revealed Cameron Carter-Vickers has played his last game of the season for Celtic.

The Parkhead boss admitted the US international has been managing a knock for a sustained period.

And after a colossal performance against Rangers, Postecoglou has conceded Carter-Vickers won't play again this term.

Instead, the Celtic defender will be challenged to rehab the injury for the remainder of the season.

Speaking to Viaplay after the match, Postecoglou said: "I thought the two centre-halves were outstanding.

"That's Cameron Carter-Vickers last game of the year. He's been carrying an injury for I don't know how long.

"We'll put him out to pasture for a little bit now."

On Alistair Johnston's injury - the full-back in crutches and a protective boot after his substitution - Postecoglou explained: "He got a sore one for him to come off. He was waving the crutches about so he seemed alright afterwards but you know what it is like, they feel no pain at full-time.

"We will have a look at it but that is the beauty of our squad, Anthony Ralston comes in and he has not played for that long and he did a fantastic job for us. It has been a squad effort since day."
