Cambuslang Rangers co-boss Paul McColl admits he is disappointed skipper Scott Anson has chosen to leave the club and says a host of departures from Somervell Park this summer means the club will be 'working from scratch' for the new campaign.
McColl's side were relegated from the Premier Division last season and 34-year-old striker Anson has joined Arthurlie to remain in the top flight for the coming season.
Camby have also seen defender Sam Greenwood move to Arthurlie, while goalkeeper Andy Wilson, Alan Reid, Nicky Fraser and Jack Breslan follow him through the exit door.
McColl said: "It is disappointing to lose Anson, but that's football.
"A few have moved on to Premier teams and we can understand the players who want to stay at that level, that's fine, but there's a couple of guys who expect what they had last year when they've been demoted a league. That's not going to happen.
"But we wish the guys luck for the future. We are not going to start crying about it.
"It is very doubtful we will have many of the players from last season sticking around.
"There's a few we are still to talk to and there's a number we aren't keeping as well. Things will be a bit clearer next week I think, but we are almost starting from scratch.
"It has been difficult to get players in but it is early days and there are still a lot of players out there yet to find a club, so we aren't hitting the panic button."
Camby are due to return for pre-season training at the end of the month, as they look to bounce straight back to the top flight.
And McColl is looking forward to an exciting test in the second tier of the West of Scotland Football League.
He added: "The First Division is a cracking league and there will be a couple of derbies with St Roch's and Glencairn in there.
"There Kilwinning, Drumchapel and Johnstone Burgh as well, so there's lots to look forward to.
"We will be back in around the end of the month, start of July, and we'll go from there."
