Cambuslang Rangers co-boss Billy Campbell admits his side are at the stage where they must start picking up points in the West of Scotland League Premier Division, regardless of who their opposition are.
With four straight defeats in the top flight so far, Camby are due to travel to an Arthurlie side which sits two places and three points ahead of them.
A win there would be a boost both in terms of their league position, but also confidence for a side that has found it difficult in stepping up to the top flight.
Camby have just a 4-0 win away to Gretna in the South Challenge Cup to show for their efforts this term after a first round exit from the Junior Cup last month at the hands of Dundee East Craigie.
And Campbell said: “We’ve got a couple of hard games coming up, but every week it’s a hard game now.
“It’s now important for us to focus on what we do – we need to go there and try to get points.
“We haven’t been playing badly at all, but we haven’t been finishing chances.
“You’ve also got that wee bit of luck not going our way as well, but we’ve said all along that there’s no sympathy for anybody, so you’ve just got to get on with it.
“We need to get our attitude correct, and see if we can get some points on the board.”
Cambuslang were due to host Second Division side Wishaw in the South Challenge Cup second round on Saturday, but the death of Queen Elizabeth II on Thursday saw all football postponed as a mark of respect.
The club will now be desperate to get back on the pitch and get a first league win under their belts.
Campbell added: “It was the right decision to postpone the games on Saturday.
“We’ve never previously been in and around football when the monarch has passed away, so we didn’t really know what the protocols were.
“We’ll do what everybody else does, follow the correct protocols, with regards to showing the respect that’s required within this situation.
“Once the official announcement came through we were able to find somewhere local to get a couple of hours’ training in and make sure we’re ticking over. You can’t sit back and allow guys weeks off – that’s just not happening.”
The West of Scotland League has confirmed all games will go ahead on Saturday, with kick-off at Dunterlie Park 2pm.
