Cambuslang Rangers co-boss Billy Campbell wants his side to build on a “massive” 1-0 win over Largs Thistle in the West of Scotland League Premier Division on Saturday.
Grant Brennan’s late strike leaves the Wee Rangers eight points clear of bottom side Petershill, with a game in hand, as they head into a home clash against high-flying Pollok.
And Campbell says that partly atones for last week’s 1-0 South Challenge Cup defeat to Newton Stewart.
Campbell said: “We managed to get the win late on, and we’re really pleased with it.
“It was some great play from wee Ben Richford and a great finish from Grant Brennan, so it finished off really well and I’m really pleased, because it picks us up again.
“You don’t want to get cut adrift at the bottom, so we’ve managed to get three wins and a draw.
“We’ll hopefully get some momentum going and keep that challenge going for the boys, but we’ve got a massive one this week with Pollok coming.
“There isn’t an easy game in that division, you need to be up for it every week.”
Campbell added: “We’ve been able to partly wash away the disappointment of that South Challenge Cup game.
“We played far better, and that was the challenge. We were looking for a reaction, for some kind of positive response, which we absolutely got.”
Camby last week signed young former Queen of the South striker Sean McMonagle and Campbell said: “He will get his chance as soon as we can.”
