Calvin Ramsay expected to stay at Aberdeen as Stephen Glass confident despite Bologna transfer push

Stephen Glass reckons in-demand Calvin Ramsay will remain an Aberdeen player after the transfer deadline passes.

Record Sport exclusively revealed earlier on Friday that Bologna had made an improved £4.4million bid for the full-back.

But the Dons, full aware of mounting Premier League interest in the 18-year-old, are prepared to stand firm.

Pittodrie boss Glass confessed Ramsay, also tracked by Manchester United, Leicester City and Leeds, had been knocked off his stride by the ongoing interest but maintains that's only natural for a young player.

And the manager believes the teenager will remain at Pittodrie until at least the end of the current campaign.

He insisted ahead of Saturday's home clash with St Johnstone: "We're still at the stage where I've not been told anything 's imminent.

"So whether there is or isn't any bids in, it's not close enough that it's going to affect our team tomorrow.

"We've got players to cover different positions in the squad and targets for any eventualities, so we're always doing our work behind the scenes.

"He (Ramsay) is fine. It's definitely affected him a touch, I think anyone can see that.

"But we'll get to Monday night and I think he'll still be with us and ready to tackle the second half of the season.

"I'm not surprised it's affected him a little bit, being only 18 and the first time he's been through this.

"He'll be ready to performance for us tomorrow, hopefully ready for Tuesday night and the rest of the season.

"He'll be fine."

Meanwhile, the Dons are set to part company with Ryan Hedges as he closes in on a move to Blackburn.

Record Sport understands the EFL Championship side have had a £200,000 offer accepted for the Welshman, whose Aberdeen contract expires at the end of the season.
