Callum Wilson was left with a gruesome injury during the first half of Newcastle's clash against Arsenal on Monday evening. The 30-year-old moved over to the sidelines to receive some medical attention after knocking one of his front teeth loose during the clash against the Gunners.
Wilson has had more than his fair share of injury problems during his career, suffering two cruciate ligament injuries and a number of other smaller problems. He has also missed nearly four months of the 2021/22 season with a calf problem, but made his return to action shortly before the clash against Mikel Arteta's side.
During a breathless opening period in which Newcastle threatened to overwhelm an Arsenal side looking to leapfrog Tottenham back into the top four, there was a brief respite for the Gunners as the Magpies' attacker ventured over to the sideline.

He was then shown to be receiving attention to an injury to his mouth, with one of his front teeth being partially dislodged. The tooth in question looked to be hanging by a thread, but the striker was back out and taking part not long after.
Wilson had already caused the Gunners' backline some problems with his running in behind the defence. Despite being caught offside a number of times, on one occasion he forced Benjamin White into a foul out on the left flank, with the Arsenal centre-back picking up a booking for his troubles.
There were signs of nerves across the defence, with Aaron Ramsdale getting lucky after being caught during a pass by Miguel Almiron, but the ball bounced to safety.
Allan Saint-Maximin was also causing plenty of bother for Arsenal, forcing Ramsdale into a save and stretching the defence, with Takehiro Tomiyasu picking up what looked to be a muscle injury. The right-back was subsequently replaced by Cedric Soares shortly before half-time.
And 10 minutes into the second half, Wilson played his part in breaking the deadlock for the hosts. Joelinton put in a cross from the left and the striker looked set to turn it home, before a sliding White put the ball into his own goal.
