The beloved phenomenon of look-a-like contests has finally reached the land of Down Under, with Sydney crowning a Heath Ledger look-a-like last weekend.
But if you missed out on potentially finding your Heath Ledger boo, don’t fret. ‘Cos someone is organising another one based on fellow Aussie great hunk of spunk, Jacob Elordi!
If you’re wondering why Byron Bay and Brissy are lacking in tall, white, bare-foot men, look no further than the Jacob Elordi look-a-like contest that is set to take place in Hyde Park next week.
In a cheeky post to r/Sydney, a Redditor who posts under u/Nakisaru shared a flyer advertising the highly-anticipated comp.
“Found this in Newtown,” the Redditor wrote alongside the flyer that reads, “Jacob Elordi look-a-like contest. 7th Dec, 2pm”.
According to the beautifully designed flyer — that features a headshot pic of Elordi and some sparkles — the competition will take place at Hyde Park, in front of the Archibald Memorial Fountain.
“Cash Prize,” the flyer continued, not disclosing the amount that’s up for grabs.

Over the same weekend where Sydney held its Heath Ledger look-a-like contest, Melburnian Alicia Liang-Morgan attempted to find the state’s own Elordi.
Unfortunately for Morgan, none of the contestants who signed up to compete showed up. Instead, a spectator named Maxie, ended up nabbing the highly-coveted title.
“I’d say it feels flattering, but I know it’s not real. I know I don’t look like him at all, I’m just tall,” Maxie told The Guardian following his big win of the title “Jacob Elordi look-a-like” and 50 bucks.
Although Melbourne’s competition attempt was kinda a bust (but hey, they got a winner!), Sydney’s Health Ledger contest had a decent turn out with organiser Josh Khoury awarding the winner with a whopping $51!!
Ultimately it was a bloke named Jude Bailey who took the grand prize. However, with TikTok being TikTok, netizens grew thirsty for runner-up Samuel Preston.
Looking at Sydney’s turnout with the whole Heath Ledger thing, I am expecting BIG things for the Jacob Elordi one.
But until then, can someone, for the love of God, organise a Dev Patel or Oscar Isaac one here in Sydney, specifically the West? Thanks!!!
