A man has been arrested near the US Capitol in Washington DC, after cops spotted a guillotine in the bed of his pick-up truck. 35-year-old Philan-Tam-Duy Le of Julian, California, was detained after cops spotted the towering device in his truck, which was allegedly parked illegally near the Capitol grounds.
An investigation is currently underway into what the suspect was planning to do with it, though AP News reports that he’d made the 2,600-mile drive across the width of the United States to bring it here. It’s unclear whether he had any intention of using it to execute anybody, whether he wanted to make a political statement, or some other as-yet-unknown motive. Regardless, he has been charged with carrying a dangerous weapon.
