California man allegedly poses as a San Francisco 49ers player on dating apps, convinced 26 women to hand over $1.3 million

A federal investigation has uncovered an alleged romance and investment scam that prosecutors say crossed four states and cost dozens of women their savings. On Aug. 24, federal agents arrested 35-year-old California native Daejon Labrayae Love and his alleged accomplice, 18-year-old Taylor Jamie Chan, at the Boise Airport in Idaho.

According to Wealth of Geeks, a criminal complaint filed by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Oregon alleges that the pair defrauded 26 identified victims out of approximately $1.3 million by using dating apps, fake financial information and, in one particularly unusual detail, Google’s AI search summaries.
