Caleb Williams Says He’d Like to Play for Dolphins

Heisman winner Caleb Williams isn’t eligible for the NFL draft until 2024, but once he is, he has a good idea of which team he hopes to play for.

The USC star recently spoke to People while in Arizona for Super Bowl LVII. He admits that he doesn’t know for sure whether this upcoming season will be his last in the college ranks, but he has already thought about what kind of coaching staff he wants to be around at the next level, and it aligns with the one that Mike McDaniel has built with the Dolphins.

“I like to be around younger coaches,” Williams says. “I’d probably go to the Dolphins. I also would be able to play with Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, Mike Gesicki. The defense isn’t bad. That’s probably my number one spot.

“I also like the colors. The colors are pretty cool and the weather’s good.”

Williams added the 49ers, Raiders and Falcons as other potential destinations, before adding, “I’d play anywhere.”

He’ll, of course, have limited input into where he does end up in the NFL, especially if he finds himself near the top of draft boards when he does make the jump to the pros.

After following coach Lincoln Riley from Oklahoma to USC last offseason, the Trojans gunslinger threw for 4,537 yards, 42 touchdowns and five interceptions, adding 10 touchdowns on the ground en route to winning the Heisman Trophy.
