Caitlyn Jenner left heartbroken as she shares death of beloved mother Esther

Caitlyn Jenner has revealed that her beloved mother Esther Jenner has passed away aged 96.

The former Olympian announced her mother's passing in an emotional Instagram post.

In the heartfelt post, she wrote: "I am heartbroken to announce my mom passed away yesterday morning, peacefully.

"Losing a mother is unique in the sense that she is the only person that loved me my entire life.

She added that Esther was a "few weeks shy" of her 97th birthday at the time of her death. "I will miss her tremendously. She was a few weeks shy of 97 and lived a full life.

"Love you mom," Caitlyn ended the message after sharing a series of sweet photos of Esther celebrating her 95th birthday.

EastEnders star Jacqueline Jossa was the first of many celebrities in the comments to send their condolences to Caitlyn. She wrote: "So sorry for your loss, sending loads of love xxxx."

While other fans in the comments shared similar messages for Caitlyn. One put: "So very sorry to hear that. That is truly heartbreaking sending you love, thoughts and prayers."

A second added: "She loved you for you! rest in peace mama jenner!"

"Sorry for your loss sending you all love at this sad time from the uk," a third commented.

Esther gave birth to Caitlyn, who was born Bruce Jenner in 1949 and raised her just outside New York City. In June 2015, Caitlyn announced that she was transitioning and in January 2017, had gender reassignment surgery.

Esther was widely supportive of Caitlyn's transition and said: "It’s nothing she asked for, it’s a condition and it starts in the mother’s womb."

However, she wasn't as supportive of Caitlyn's ex-wife Kris Jenner and accused her of being "hyper controlling" and "an unsuitable spouse choice," but their relationship had since improved.

Esther even criticized the popular reality TV show that Caitlyn and her stepkids, Kim, Kourtney, Khloe and Rob Kardashian regularly featured in.

Soon after, Caitlyn's children with Kris, Kendall and Kylie, made their way onto the show, soon becoming regular features.

"I wasn’t fond of that programme," Esther said of the "plotless" show. "There was no plot, and why it was such a hit I’ll never know."

"When your child becomes, oh golly, world-famous, it’s very difficult for a mother to put them in that category, she’s not a celebrity to me, she’s my kid."

She added: "It’s just very difficult, but I’m no different than any other mother, I love my kids."
