Caitlin Clark says everything is fine. This is no big deal.
Caitlin Clark was doing Caitlin Clark things on Wednesday. During a sneaky good matchup against Iowa State, she broke the 3,000 career points mark. She’s just the 15th player to do that in women’s college basketball history.
However, she is the first player in Division 1 men’s or women’s basketball history to do so while logging at least 750 rebounds and 750 assists. She’s on pace to break Kelsey Plum’s scoring record before the season ends.
After the game, head coach Lisa Bluder and Clark talked with the media about the momentous occasion. Bluder was very complimentary of Clark, but Clark seemingly equated the moment to a nothing burger.
All she wanted to do was win.
Only 15 players in NCAA Women's basketball history have surpassed 3,000 career points and tonight Caitlin Clark became the newest member. Here is what the National Player of the Year and Lisa Bluder had to say about the historic milestone. @wqad pic.twitter.com/peIxDp86Xw
