Something is seriously wrong with the Colorado Rockies’ gloves this season.
Maybe that’s not quite it. Maybe lightning strikes twice in the same place, occasionally.
Here’s what I’m talking about: On Wednesday night, C.J. Cron’s glove broke on a throw from shortstop Alan Trejo, ruining a double play that would have ended the first inning against the San Francisco Giants. It allowed a run, too.
What’s wild is earlier this season, his teammate Ryan McMahon had a ball go right through his glove for an error!
But we’ve got to go back to Cron, because this is just some wild stuff. Check out what happened:
So bizarre!

A brutal beat for NRFI bettors 🤮

The ball went through CJ Cron’s glove in what would’ve been an inning ending double play… Instead, a run scores.
Absolute pain for NRFI bettors 🙃 pic.twitter.com/p7NklVnp0y

So CJ Cron has a broken glove, broken bat, & hit by pitch. Just take him out. Not his night.

A bottom of the 1st 2-out grand slam and the webbing of CJ Cron’s glove ripping on a potential inning ending double play.
There’s bad luck, and then there’s this.

That ball just went right through Cron's glove, same thing that happened to McMahon last month. Cron is getting a new glove, he'll be credited with the error
