The date for a by-election to replace a Liverpool MP as a member of the city council has been confirmed.
Candidates to fill the vacancy left by Ian Byrne standing down as ward member for Everton, will contest the poll on Thursday April 7.
Mr Byrne stood down from his seat earlier this year after an almost four year stint at Town Hall.

He will continue as the MP for Liverpool West Derby having been elected in December 2019, replacing Stephen Twigg who stood down after nine years in the constituency.
The election will be held upon receipt of nomination papers by Liverpool returning officer Tony Reeves by 4pm on Friday March 11.
Labour has already indicated Ellie Byrne will be standing as its candidate, following her selection by Liverpool Walton CLP.
Kevin Robinson-Hale will stand for the Green Party.
A second by-election will be held on that day for the vacancy in Warbreck ward, after the resignation of former councillor Cheryl Didsbury last month after seven years in the role.
Labour has selected Sam East to stand for the position in April’s poll to replace Ms Didsbury.
Other major parties across the city are yet to confirm their candidates for next month’s vote.
Applications to register to vote must be made by midnight on Tuesday March 22 while proxy votes need to be confirmed 24 hours later on March 23.
