A popular butcher has won praise for offering people the chance to order steak pie dinners, to be delivered for just 1p. Patricks of Camelon teamed up with several local retailers to make the offer for one day only, for customers who purchase through a delivery app.
And the initiative has been hailed as “setting an example” during the cost of living crisis. The award-winning butchers based in Falkirk said the initiative – which aims to support local retailers and provide affordable meal options for those in need – is part of their commitment to giving back to the community they serve.
James R Patrick. told the Daily Record: “We know times are tough for many people right now, and we want to do our part to support our community.
“Partnering with Snappy Shopper and local retailers allows us to provide affordable and delicious meals while supporting other local retailers in the area.”
Snappy Shopper CEO Mike Callachan said Patricks is “a great example of the types of businesses we seek to champion at Snappy Shopper”.
Shop owner Jawad Javid, from Day Today Alloa Road, who has won several awards for his own community spirit, said he was proud to be part of the initiative.
He said: “We hope that by working together, we can make a positive impact and bring a little joy to our customers’ lives.”
Falkirk councillor Provost Robert Bissett said: “In these austere and difficult times where we have families struggling to pay energy bills and put food on the table it is commendable that such an initiative in being implemented by Patrick’s and Snappy Shopper.
“This initiative is the kind of social collaboration we need to assist our communities. Maybe by setting an example other initiatives of this type may come forward. Partnership working is the key to making the change that communities need. Well done to all involved in bringing this initiative forward. “
