More than 70 MPs and peers are urging Prime Minister Andy Burnham to support restrictions on the development of artificial superintelligence after an Anthropic researcher estimated there was a greater than 10% chance that future AI could kill all humans within the next decade.
The campaign is calling for stronger safeguards, including an international framework that could prevent superintelligent AI from being developed if humans cannot reliably control it.
