Burger King is handing out free Whoppers, but only to those with a very specific job.
Firefighters across the country can get their hands on a free flame-grilled Whopper or a Plant-Based Whopper this weekend as a thanks for their hard work and commitment.
The fast-food chain says Guy Fawkes Night is the busiest night for firefighters, so while the country celebrates with firework displays, firefighters on the frontline can get a free Whopper.
The free burgers will be available this weekend from today, November 4, to Sunday, November 6.
To get one, you’ll need to present the specific firefighter landing page on the Burger King website here, along with your firefighter ID or uniform.
It’s the second year in a row that the fast-food chain has launched the offer.
Those who qualify will be able to collect their free flame-grilled Whopper, and for vegans or vegetarians, a Plant-Based Whopper will be up for grabs too.
The offer will be valid at participating restaurants only, so if you’ll have to check at the branch you’re visiting.
You’ll also be limited to one burger per transaction, subject to availability.
The offer won’t be valid at Burger King motorway service locations, airports, train stations and holiday parks.
The news comes shortly after the fast-food chain announced its plans to ditch single-use plastic by 2025.
The chain says it will be removing all lids from its plastic cups for diners sat in restaurants nationwide.
Customers who visit Burger King restaurants in the UK can expect to find their soft drink of choice without a lid on it.
The burger joints commitment to limit plastic saw them remove plastic toys from junior meals back in 2019.
A statement from Burger King said: "This new initiative from Burger King UK is a bold step for quick-service restaurants across the UK - and it’s a big one.
“The initiative is predicted to remove a whopping 17 million plastic lids from circulation and save over 30,000kg of plastic every single year.
"Cutting down on single-use plastic is an important goal for Burger King UK. Burger King UK has an active approach to sustainability and clear commitments under the Burger King for Good framework."
