A section of the A9 has been closed by police after part of a building collapsed in the early hours of the morning.
Bricks and crumbling cement remain littered across the roadway on Traill Street, Thurso, on Monday May 1, with officers blocking off the scene.
The incident reportedly took place at around 3.30am at the former Clydesdale Bank building. Thankfully, there have been no reports of any injuries.
Pictures from the scene show a large number of bricks from the roofline of the property have come loose and fallen onto the street below. A number of businesses have been affected.
Traffic Scotland is warning motorists to expect delays and to use the local diversion that has been put in place.
A Police Scotland Spokesperson said: "Around 3.35am on Monday, 1 May, we were called to reports of damage to a building in Traill Street, Thurso.
"The road is currently closed whilst arrangements are made to remove the debris. The road is currently closed at the junction of Sir George's Street, Olrig Street, Cowie Lane and Mansons Lane.
"Members of the public are being advised to avoid the area meantime."
