Bryson DeChambeau ‘made Trump request’ during dispute over controversial penalty at The Open

Bryson DeChambeau reportedly wanted to involve US president Donald Trump after controversially being handed a two-shot penalty at The Open.

The two-time major winner was handed the penalty late on Friday night after officials reviewed footage and decided he had improved the area of his backswing by flattening down some long grass on Royal Birkdale’s fifth hole.
