Eddie Howe does not feel that his World Cup players will need any major lift as they now focus their efforts back to domestic action.
Newcastle United resume their season with success still feasible on all three fronts in both cups and the chance of an unexpected tilt at Champions League football. Howe has worked with the majority of his players with friendly games against Middlesbrough, Al-Hilal and Rayo Vallecano with positive signs emerging from all three games.
His roster is now back to full strength with England trio Nick Pope, Kieran Trippier and Callum Wilson all back and raring to go while Bruno Guimaraes and Fabian Schar are also back in contention for the Bournemouth League Cup tie.

When discussing Bruno's return, after a disappointing World Cup with Brazil, Howe said: "Their dream was to win the tournament, but he’s focused now on Newcastle and that’s very important for all the players, to put all that behind them and take what positives they can.
"Bruno is fine physically. He’s obviously disappointed to not reach the latter stages of the World Cup with his country."
Bruno did not feature as a starter in Qatar but will be one of the first names on the team sheet for Newcastle. Howe says he can only get back to his best form in England: "That’s all he can do, continue his form from earlier in the season.
"For me, he has been outstanding for us. He had a small injury at the start of the season, but once he got his fitness back, he has been incredible.
"I hope we get to see the same Bruno come back because he is a massive presence in our team."
