Bruno Fernandes fit to face Liverpool after car crash, confirms Manchester United boss Ralf Rangnick

Manchester United interim manager Ralf Rangnick has confirmed that Bruno Fernandes emerged unscathed from a car crash on Monday morning.

The Portuguese midfielder’s Porsche collided with a Volkswagen 4x4 on his way to training ahead of the Premier League derby with Liverpool but all involved escaped serious injury.

Images from the scene emerged online showing Fernandes’ car damaged at the front right-hand corner while the Volkswagen’s front-left wheel was caved in, with the passenger airbags having gone off.

Ahead of United’s trip to Liverpool on Tuesday, Rangnick stated that the player was still fit to train immediately after the crash.

“He has been training with the team, obviously the accident happened on the way to Carrington,” confirmed the German boss.

“As far as I know, no one was injured. He was okay and he'll be okay for tomorrow.”

Otherwise, United hope Raphael Varane will be available to face Liverpool after returning to training following a muscle injury. Scott McTominay (foot), Edinson Cavani (calf), Luke Shaw (leg) and Fred (hip) are all unavailable.
