The Cleveland Browns had a chance again late this week to win another game but a crushing interception from Joe Flacco took that chance away. This was after Flacco had a pretty impressive debut considering he signed with the team just a couple of weeks ago and Amari Cooper went out with an injury. Kevin Stefanski should at least feel good about the passing offense today against the now 6-6 Los Angeles Rams.
The defense was picked apart by another good offensive coach in Sean McVey as they were exploited over and over again. They could not get pressure on Matthew Stafford all day as they exploited the defense’s aggressive play with misdirection all day long. They couldn’t come up with enough stops in the second half and Cleveland dropped to 7-5.
It was a bit of a rollercoaster overall as they had highs and lows like they always seem to have. Let’s take a look at how Browns Twitter reacted to the loss to the Rams.
Bears, Jets, Bengals and hope the Colts, Steelers, and Broncos lose a few. https://t.co/gLj3seUEDm

Anyone putting this loss on Flacco should re-watch the game about 11 times.

The NFL, at some level, can be pretty simple. Today, no Ward and a very limited Garrett means a bad performance from the defense when facing an offense with Stafford, Puca, Kupp and Kyren

This one stings

Week after week this defense has been a joke. Stop talking about Stefanski and start talking about Jim Schwartz.

Some people are just so used to blaming the coach they don't know a good one if it hits them in the face
— Matthew Peterson (@MatthewPetey) December 4, 2023
Can’t have nice things.
Miss Chubb, miss Watson.
Miss Ward and already miss a HEALTHY Myles.
This was supposed to be such a promising year.

Browns defense today:
0 sacks.
0 turnovers.
400 yards allowed.#Browns— Hayden Grove (@H_Grove) December 4, 2023
Joe Flacco's play is indisputably an improvement on the Browns QB position.
Still in the playoff race.
Still a season to play for.
Still very much alive. pic.twitter.com/APbTJad3rN— Nick Karns (@karnsies817) December 4, 2023
#Browns defense was flatter than flat. No Denzel Ward was glaring today. Myles Garrett's shoulder injury hindering his impact is concerning. Some questions to be answered before this last stretch of games.

Defense should never call themselves “best in the world” ever again. I’m so sick of hearing it from them.
— Zach D (@ZachNoah52) December 4, 2023
Browns Defense today
-401 total yards allowed
(2nd worst this season)-20 first downs allowed
(T- worst this season)-1 sack
(T- worst this season)Defense isn’t the sole reason for this 2 game skid, but it certainly hasn’t helped #DawgPound pic.twitter.com/1eRwgKXyic

Winning is hard! Browns did not have their franchise QB, franchise RB, franchise Corner, both offensive tackles, and their best WR did not play in 2nd half. Not an excuse, just the reality. They are still in the hunt! Flacco played well. Defense has to adjust. Just keep playing!!

because it worked better than running the ball https://t.co/VQa3RaMWf6

At some point, the injuries are too much to coach through. Hope the Browns haven't hit that point in 2023, but man the bodies continue to pile up.
And yet, I think there is a strong chance three wins against other teams who have been hurt by injuries and you sneak into playoffs.

We’re ok going forward. Feel like we have a chance with Flacco. All is not lost. Regroup and win Sunday. #DawgPound
— Tony Rizzo (@TheRealTRizzo) December 4, 2023
#DawgPound Joe Flacco should be the starting QB until further notice.
— Cody Suek (@CodySuek) December 4, 2023
If Flacco wins a SB for the Browns… I will personally see to it that he is a hall of famer. Even if I have to melt down Joe Thomas’s bust and resculpt that sh** myself.
— Andrew Hawkins (@Hawk) December 3, 2023
A couple weekends ago Flacco was chilling by the fire watching ball now he’s getting sacked into the goal post on 4th and 34 by Aaron Donald
— chris long (@JOEL9ONE) December 4, 2023
Joe Flacco might be the best Browns quarterback that I’ve watched in my lifetime
(this is a low bar i know)
— gabb (@gabbgoudy) December 4, 2023
We are wasting Flacco's prime
— Tron Madden (@madden_tron) December 4, 2023
Joe Flacco showed a lot of really good things today. Untimely turnover, but he showed he's got plenty in the tank.
— Camryn Justice (@camijustice) December 4, 2023
Joe Flacco a week removed from shuffleboard in the senior community is easily the Browns' best quarterback this season
— Dan Pizzuta (@DanPizzuta) December 3, 2023
All things aside, On 5 days practice I think Joe Flacco proved he can still play in this league #Browns

Y’all are wanting to *again* fire Kevin Stefanski after this L. It’s all over the timeline.
I would extend him after this game.
— Grant Puskar (@grant_puskar_) December 4, 2023
It’s almost like Stefanski schemes all these players open & the quarterback just needs to stand there & throw to the open guys rather than defenders… pic.twitter.com/RMu9IU87qV
— Jack Duffin (@JackDuffin) December 3, 2023
I don't understand why Stefanski keeps calling these dropped passes.
— Dawg Pound Daily (@dawgpounddaily) December 3, 2023
Totally on Stefanski not running the ball. #sarcasm https://t.co/lf4q8aubmt
