The Cleveland Browns have been without quarterback Deshaun Watson for their last two games, and there remains no timeframe for his return. Watson spoke to the media today as the team gets ready for the Indianapolis Colts, and stated he could not project a timeline for getting back on the field for the Browns.
But he did not necessarily say he is set to miss this week against the Indianapolis Colts either. Here is Watson’s direct quote:
“It could be any day. It could be tomorrow. It could be Sunday. It could be two weeks from now. I’m not sure. I can’t put a timeline on anything right now.”
He did not practice again today as P.J. Walker got the first-team reps again after starting in the win against the San Francisco 49ers. While the Browns have a chance to stack wins out of the bye week, their primary goal must be playing sustainable football offensively. And that goal is not realistic until Watson gets back on the field.
