Browns give update on return-eligible star linebacker

The Cleveland Browns have the chance to designate linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah for return from Injured Reserve as they get set to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers.

However, head coach Kevin Stefanski has stated that Owusu-Koramoah will not play against the Steelers on Sunday. The Browns have not designated their star linebacker for return either, which casts doubt on whether or not he will play again in 2024.

By designating Owusu-Koramoah for return, the Browns would open a 21-day window to put him back on the 53-man roster. By refraining from designating the linebacker for return, the Browns are saying they do not think he is three weeks out with just five weeks to go in the season.

Given the nature of Owusu-Koramoah’s neck injury and the Browns’ record in 2024, it makes sense to give him as much time as possible to get right before putting him back on the field.

Even if that means he doesn’t play football again until 2025.
