Hana Cross has broken her silence on the Beckham feud, and opened up about her relationship with Brooklyn Beckham.
The model, 28, dated the eldest Beckham son for nine months, and her name was brought back into the headlines after Brooklyn’s explosive statement earlier this year.
Hana dated Brooklyn between 2018 and 2019 and became a regular presence at family events during that period. She attended Victoria Beckham’s fashion shows, spent time at the family’s Cotswolds home and joined them on trips alongside their close circle of friends.
Cross told Hello she has never felt pressured not to speak about her relationship with Brooklyn, but that “after [the relationship] happened, I just wanted to move on and make my own life and my own name for myself”.
She added she was surprised Brooklyn publicly spoke about the family rift.
“This whole thing that's happened, with Brooklyn coming out and writing the Instagram Stories and his statement – it was a bit shocking to me that he did that,” Cross added.
“It was a surprise. I guess it shocked his family, too… but it summed up a lot of my own experiences as well and the way that their family as a brand does act.
“But then, nobody knows what's going on behind closed doors. But I do think it's sad that everything had to be put out there on his side, so openly and publicly.”
Cross also spoke about the relationship, adding: “My time with the family caused me a lot of anxiety, in all honesty.
“There were a lot of warning signs and things that happened during the relationship that, in hindsight, should have made me think and maybe end the relationship or walk away from it a lot sooner than I did.
“But I was only 20, 21 when we dated, and I had just started modelling, and I came from living on a farm to moving to London and being thrown into a relationship like that.”
The model added she hasn’t crossed paths with Brooklyn recently, but that she has seen his brothers Cruz, 21, and Romeo, 23.
“I’ve seen his brothers at Fashion Week events and would share an occasional ‘hi’,” she added.
“We move in similar circles, so it's hard not to run into people, but no, I haven't seen him in a while.”
