The Denver Broncos sent quarterbacks coach Davis Webb, wide receivers coach Keary Colbert and defensive line coach Jamar Cain to LSU’s pro day on Wednesday, according to Jim Nagy.
The Tigers have several prospects entering this year’s NFL draft, but the most notable is quarterback Jayden Daniels, one of the top three QBs in the 2024 class. Cain is scouting defensive linemen, but it’s worth noting that he overlapped with Daniels at LSU in 2022 and at Arizona State in 2019 (hat tip to the Denver Post‘s Parker Gabriel for pointing that out on X).
After the pro day, the Broncos were among six teams who had private meetings with Daniels, according to the QB’s agent (via NFL Network). The Washington Commanders (No. 2), New England Patriots (No. 3), New York Giants (No. 6), Minnesota Vikings (No. 11) and Las Vegas Raiders (No. 13) also met with Daniels.
Denver does not pick until No. 12, so if they want to select Daniels, the team will have to trade up (and that’s certainly a possibility). The Broncos also met with Daniels at the NFL combine earlier this offseason. The 2024 NFL draft will be held in Detroit from April 25-27.
