With the NFL offseason underway, it’s time for teams to shift their focus on who they are retaining from their 2023 roster and who they will cut to make room for their 2024 roster. For the Denver Broncos, ESPN’s Matt Bowen has an ideal fit for their already-stacked defensive starting eleven.
Bowen recently released a list of the “best fits” for the top 50 NFL free agents, and he listed the Broncos for Baltimore Ravens linebacker Patrick Queen.
“With Josey Jewell hitting free agency, the Broncos could opt to replace him with Queen, who can clean up in the run game, drop in coverage and create pressure on blitz stunts,” Bowen wrote on ESPN.com.
“In addition to 133 tackles, Queen chipped in 3.5 sacks and 18 pressures last season in Baltimore. He would bring a physical and productive presence to the middle of the Denver defense.”
Queen comes from an organization that preaches toughness, which appears to be Broncos coach Sean Payton’s Modus Operandi. With that said, Queen could be an ideal fit for Denver for 2024.
