A North East pumpkin patch has been named among the best in the country, according to a new survey.
Brocksbushes, the family-owned farm and shop in Northumberland, is well known for its fruit picking sessions and when the pumpkin season comes around it always attracts crowds of visitors. This year's pumpkin-picking dates are already a sell-out with slots full throughout the month and up until until October 31, as families prepare to make their lanterns for Halloween.
Its pumpkin patch is one of a number open in the region this October and it seems that it's certainly one of the most popular, based on data compiled by a holiday park operator which has included Brocksbushes in its list of 2022's top 10 pumpkin patches according to Instagram. Parkdean Resorts searched pumpkin patches across the country and then analysed the numbers of Instagram posts.

And it says that searches for "pumpkin patches near me" are up by a whopping 560% in the past month alone. Having looked at Google Trends seaches, Instagram Location was used to understand how many posts each destination had received.
Brocksbushes Farm, whose site grows more than 20 varieties of pumpkins in different shapes and sizes - including, this year, even white and grey one - featured among 2022's most-tagged locations with 12,000 posts. And its event his year is set to be a "pumpkin extravaganza" said Parkdean.
With its pumpkin patch said to have doubled in size for this year, the company added "there will undoubtedly be plenty of displays and places to take the perfect Instagram photo".
Top spot in the list went to Farmer Copley’s in Pontefract, which is described as the largest pumpkin festival in the UK and is home to more than 200,000 pumpkins. The area was mentioned in 37,000 posts. Other locations in the list included Leicester, York, Crawley, Bristol, Surrey, Newark, Gloucester and Milton Keynes.
While its pumpkin-picking slots are booked up, Brocksbushes says people can keep an eye out here for any cancellations.
