Toilet rolls, handwash, and washing-up liquid are among the top everyday hygiene essentials that Brits are being forced to source from charities amid the cost-of-living crisis, a study has found.
A poll of 2,069 adults found that almost half (47%) of low-income households have had to go without basic hygiene products in the last 12 months, as they can no longer afford them.
It comes as data, released by charitable organisation In Kind Direct, has revealed the top non-food items that Brits have been turning to charities for – such as shower gel, shampoo, deodorants, and toothbrushes and toothpaste.
