Britney Spears admits she has 'no idea' who Pete Davidson and Scott Disick are

Britney Spears stunned fans as she reposted a video of Pete Davidson and Scott Disick on Instagram on Tuesday, but said she has "no idea" who they are.

Despite the Saturday Night Live comedian, 27, dating Kim Kardashian, 41, and Scott, 38, rising to fame on their reality show Keeping Up With The Kardashians, the singer, 40, was completely oblivious to their celebrity status.

The video, filmed by Pete, showed him panning round to show Scott and pals fast asleep on the sofa as they watched the TV.

Uploading it onto her Instagram, Britney wrote: "Sorry had to report this...no idea who these people in the video are but it made me laugh so hard."

And the Toxic hitmaker's followers couldn't believe she didn't recognise the pair, with fans taking to Twitter to comment on the awkward confession.

One wrote: "I died. Imagine Scott Disick and Pete thinking they made it in life only to find out Britney Spears has no idea who they are. lmaoooo d-list celebs".

Another fan typed: "If Britney Spears really doesn’t know who Pete Davidson and Scott Disick are, then baby, she truly IS free."

"I love that @britneyspears has no idea who Pete Davidson is", a third chimed, while a fourth added: "May Britney Spears' knowledge about Pete Davidson remain at that, nothing."

Britney's post comes a week after the singer's Instagram account mysteriously disappeared, with her followers suspecting she deactivated it herself after site officials confirmed they did not remove it.

The vanishing act provoked a fan frenzy on social media, with one person on Twitter saying: "Oh, my God, Britney Spears' Instagram disappeared."

Another person said: "Britney Spears deactivated her Instagram account. I am deactivating my whole ass social media. I can't live without her videos."

Others simply questioned why it had been taken down and said they would miss her updates.

But Britney was back online soon enough and on Tuesday took to her page to gush about her Australian Shepherd puppy, Sawyer.

She wrote: "Thank you for dogs! Dog spelled backwards is God...not sure any correlation but I do think that dogs are extraordinary animals!

"Although I've been attacked by 2 dogs in my life...I am still drawn to them!"

Britney revealed she was attacked at the age of eight by a cocker spaniel, saying the animal "scratched, bit and barked" at her until she was forced to scramble onto the bonnet of a car to escape.

In the second incident the star was 16 and was confronted by a friend's dog. She claimed it "bit a hole in my leg and a huge hole in my jeans".

Britney continued: "Ever since then I have to get to know animals before I really approach them... I have several small animals and my baby is so sweet... I've never even heard her bark!!!

"My dogs are unbelievably precious."
