British runner Ben Connor has turned down a spot in the squad for the European Road Running Championships over the fact that athletes must pay to represent GB.
Connor, who won the Night of 10,000m PBs event at the British Athletics Championships in 2019, had been slated to run the half-marathon in the inaugural European event in Brussels and Leuven later this month.
