British nationals Andrew Bagshaw and Christopher Parry were killed while attempting a “humanitarian evacuation”. Tonight (Tuesday) a statement has been released by Mr Parry’s family through the Foreign Office.
The statement said that the two men were attempting to move people from the Ukrainian town of Soledar. The family paid tribute to Mr Parry's 'selfless determination' and said 'he will forever be in our hearts'.
Officers said Andrew Bagshaw, 48, and Christopher Perry, 28, were last seen on Friday, January 6, heading to Soledar where heavy fighting was reported, and contact with them was lost. Andrew Bagshaw, a resident of New Zealand, was in Ukraine to assist in delivering humanitarian aid, according to New Zealand media reports.
