British mum rescued, suspects killed in Malawi police operation

Nusrat Osman, a 47-year-old British mother of two, has been rescued by police in Malawi following her abduction in Blantyre on 11 September.
Four suspected kidnappers were killed in a shootout with officers during the rescue operation on Thursday.
Deputy Inspector General of Police Noel Kayira sustained gunshot wounds during the crossfire and remains in a stable condition in hospital.
Malawi police confirmed that Osman, who originally moved to the country from Leicester, has been safely reunited with her family.
The motive for the abduction remained unclear as the suspects had not contacted Osman's family or authorities prior to the raid.
