A British man has died while swimming in the sea at the Costa Blanca in Spain. The 74-year-old is said to have lost consciousness while he was in the water at a beach next to Moraira Castle called La Ampolla Beach, the Mirror reports.
Lifeguards tried to revive him after bringing him onto the beach, before paramedics reached the scene and continued to practice CPR. But sadly he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The drama on the family-friendly beach, Moraira’s main beach just over a 30-minute drive north of Benidorm, happened around 2pm on Friday. It was not immediately clear if the dead man was on holiday or lives in the area.
A routine investigation is underway. The results of the post-mortem, thought to have been carried out over the weekend, have not been made public. Similar scenes played out on another Costa Blanca beach in October last year when a 40-year-old Brit died while swimming along the Spanish coastline.
Fishermen spotted him floating in the water and got him to the shore, according to local reports. Police and paramedics were called to the scene at around 5.30pm and rushed to his aid to give him CPR.
But sadly they were unable to save the man and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
