Britain's Got Talent viewers got the giggles last night (June 1) as Mr Blobby replaced Simon Cowell. The ITV talent competition returned for another semi-finals instalment on Thursday night, with gifted hopefuls delivering a round of showstopping performances to an excited audience and astounded judges.
But things didn't seem as they should at the beginning of the semi-final, as only three of the four anticipated judges stepped out into a roaring Eventim Apollo. Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and Bruno Tonioli were joined by 1990s TV icon Mr Blobby, who assumed Simon Cowell's place.
Chaos ensued, with Mr Blobby, who clearly hadn't been given permission to be part of the show, attacking presenter Ant McPartlin before diving off stage and being removed by security. As Mr Blobby was dragged away, Simon, 63, finally made an appearance as Ant and Dec informing viewers that the bulbous pink character had been banished from the premises.

As the audience collapsed into a fit of giggles, viewers watching along at home had not been expecting the chaotic 90s legend to make an appearance on Britain's Got Talent. On social media, some even demanded for the Noel Edmond's House Party star to take up a position as a full-time judge on the show.
Lindsay McIntyre tweeted: "Petition to have Mr Blobby as a full time judge!"
"Where’s mr blobby gone, his act was the best of the night tonight!! #BGT" said Kelly Chapman.
Kevin Urquhart wrote: "Mr Blobby be a better judge to be fair #bgt"
Mr Blobby's "random" appearance on BGT comes after he auditioned for the show earlier in the series with his own style of magic. The toothy-grinned pink-and-yellow figure, who communicates only through saying the word "blobby", was created by Noel's House Party writer Charlie Adams.
In 1993, Mr Blobby topped the UK Charts with his Christmas hit "Mr Blobby". In recent years, he has appeared on popular shows such as Dancing on Ice, This Morning and Loose Women.
