One person and two dogs have been rescued from a fire at a property in Knowle West. The response is ongoing - we're providing live updates here - following the fire on Downton Road.
Avon Fire and Rescue Service has confirmed that one 'casualty' and two dogs were rescued from the property. South Western Ambulance Service has also been at the scene.
The property is located on the corner of Downton Road and Kildare Road in Knowle. The blaze sent smoke billowing across the sky, with smoke spotted over Pero's Bridge at Bristol harbour.

People are being urged to avoid the area. Avon Fire and Rescue Service tweeted: "Please avoid the area where possible to allow emergency services to access the scene."
A spokesperson for South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) told Bristol Live: “We were called at 10.59hrs to a fire in the Knowle area. We sent an operations officer.”
Avon Fire and Rescue Service tweeted just before midday: "All persons have been accounted for. One casualty and two dogs have been rescued by crews. Crews are currently working to dampen down the area and extinguish the fire."
The ambulance service has not yet given further details about the person who was rescued from the house.
