Bristol City vs Reading: Team and injury news, match odds and how to watch

Bristol City head into Wednesday's clash with Reading without a win in three while the visitors are finding themselves plummetting down the league.

The Royals are winless in nine and have conceded eight in their last two matches as they boast the joint-worst defensive record alongside Peterborough.

City appeared to have found some momentum following the 2-2 draw at Preston but that was quickly quashed following a defensive nightmare in the 3-1 defeat at Blackpool on Saturday.

Supporters who are unable to attend tonight's game have a couple of viewing options from home to ensure they do not miss a minute of the action, and here is a guide of everything you need to know ahead of tonight's game...

Team news

Bristol City have no new fresh injury concerns to take on Reading with Andy King and Rob Atkinson both ruled out.

George Tanner and Matty James also remain sidelined but Dan Bentley could come back between the sticks after he was left out of Saturday's squad with Covid.

Based on assistant Curtis Fleming's comments on Monday, changes could be in order that could also see a tweak in formation to help prevent shipping goals. Here is how we see City lining up.

The visitors, meanwhile, could be without up to eight first-team players, including Junior Hoilett (international duty), Scott Dann (hamstring) and Alen Halilovic (hamstring).

Yakou Meite and Tom McIntyre both played for the U23s in a 1-1 draw with Stoke City on Monday night after injury lay-offs but won't be ready for today's game.

Tom Ince could make his debut for the club having arrived on loan on deadline day from the Potters.

Match odds

Bristol City head into the match as odds-on favourites, according to bookies Paddy Power.

The Robins are 20/23 to get the win, with Reading outsiders at 16/5.

The draw can be backed at 12/5 suggesting the bookmakers predict a narrow contest.

Kick-off time and referee

The game will kick-off at the traditional evening 19:45 kick-off time.

Oliver Langford has the whistle at Ashton Gate in what will be his 21st match of the season.

Langford has issued 70 yellow cards and two reds over his 20 games, one of which was City's 1-0 win over Stoke in November as he sent off Joe Allen in the last minute.

How to watch

Supporters unable to attend tonight's game have a viewing option available.

Firstly, the match will be streamed live on City's streaming platform Robins TV, with a match pass priced £10 and coverage beginning at 7.15pm - although this option is for international viewers only.

Alternatively, Sky Sports customers are able to watch the match as part of their subscription.

Live coverage will be available via the red button on Sky Sports Football, with coverage beginning shortly before kick-off.

Sky customers can also watch the game live via the Sky Sports app.
